Just because the weather is changing doesn't mean you need to put away your tanks and crops! Pair your not so basic basics with killer footwear to make a grand statement. Cuban heels give any look a certain rockstar glam and they are timeless! The hot shoe right now is the Gucci Princetown loafer, they aren't for everyone but with our lace tank, some fitted slacks and a blazer or motorcycle jacket, you will be the best dressed in the room. Statement shoes, or (fashion) insider shoes as we like to call them, are a worthwhile addition to your wardrobe!
Everything good in our world!
Sippin' on Some...
Keep your cool while getting Slizzard!
It's beautiful, affordable, and will definitely start a conversation! I am loving this drinkware by design company Jodhpuri.
This beautiful photo by ,New York based Photog, Sean Howard has us thinking all about #Skin
You should take care of your body skin just as well as you take care of your face. In the warmer months we show a lot more skin so you have to do a little more to keep it glowing! My favorite thing to do is exfoliate at the beach. Rolling around in the sand, rubbing it into your skin and washing it off with the salt water of the ocean help maintain that even sun kissed tone.
Summer is a vibe. We like to turn TF up but we also like a chill moment. Envision yourself on a boat with Rihanna in the middle of the Maldives....Just chilling'.
Ever think about the things you used to wear back in the day? Back in the day is such a grey area for me now, seeing as my version of back in the day (2000) is the year some of you were born! I was always in love with clothes, and ever since I was old enough to work I put all my money toward some crazy items, I mean I had it all! All the Von Dutch hats, All the FUBU, and my shameful FAV!! JNCO jeans!! I love this era!!!
There are days when I wish I could log into my old myspace account (dating myself, I know). Myspace was not only the first place my freak ass sent and received nudes, but also the first place I got to talk to a lot of really talented artist. I remember being in college and coming across some work that really spoke to me. I messaged the artist to see what I could get on a college student budget. We worked out something for a small piece and the artist was only going to charge me a couple hundred bucks... Sadly I didn't buy it. I probably got shoes or something...Maybe even spent it at Wal-Mart or the club. Again, I was a young wild college kid. Fast Forward a few years and Hebrew Brantley, the artist, is now a worldwide name. Kayne and Chris Brown are just a few people who collect his work. His paintings tell the story of black kids (to me). I do kick myself every time I think about it because his work is worth thousands now. One day I will add him to my dream collection!

Looking for bomb back up visuals to play during a function....Go to Youtube and watch Samsara. It's considered one of the most beautiful movies in the world. Trust me....It is beautiful.
Tim Maia is a Brazilian crooner with such a crystal clear voice. I stumbled across these remixes of his classic songs and I am in love!!! A good lil bop'
This is an absolute summer must have! It's a dry oil with a light floral scent. The texture is smooth and not sticky or heavy at all. The greatest part about this dry oil is that it leaves your clothes smelling like a garden of white roses even after a long hot day.
The goal for a summer weekend in the city is to look effortless with some points of interest... the art of put together dishevelment will stylishly take you from day to night. Somewhere between brunch and the hotel rooftop party you will most likely end up at you will probably want to have a light snack in one of New York's beautiful parks (Washington Square Park is one of my favorites). Since we are trying to keep it light...The perfect in-between event snack is Watermelon Salad and canned Rose'. This salad is tasty and will help you stay hydrated, while the Rose' will help you maintain that buzz. You can not beat the simplicity of this dish. It's easy but far from basic. Lets not forget about your skin! It can get pretty muggy out here but you can maintain your skins cleanliness and moisture but spritzing with my favorite facial product...Rose water.
Something beautiful for you! great song to smoke to, to love to, to vibe out to!
This little baby right here will def elevate your selfie game. In to times we live in your instagram page is just as important as your LinkedIn, so why not make it FLY? Literally. Whats next in Cell accessory tech...well you see it don't you? Selfie Drones!!
I like some subtly crazy shit. Ben Hopper has created just that. Beautiful images of calm chaos in my eyes. Simplicity that is raw and beautiful. Look at how well all the elements blend as if its existence was meant from the beginning of time. The dancers, the ash, the white space. Perfection!
I am an art lover. My favorite periods in art def have to be the Art Deco movement of the 20's and also the Italian renaissance. I can't say I love those eras because the art itself but more because where creators were mentally at the time. For me to love a piece it has to move me. A few years ago I happened upon photographs of pop culture life in Africa during the 70's. The pictures had so much life and history AND totally not in step with my mental picture of Africa. As I researched more I found the artist, Malick Sidebe, was doing something very familiar to me. Open a fashion magazine...
Mr. Sidebe is the father of modern fashion photography in my eyes. One of my biggest regrets was not saving up to purchase one of his pieces while he was still alive.
Ever since I stumbled across it I have been OBSESSED with this exquisite Pedro Friedeberg gold hand chair. It's quirky, which I love in decor, but also refined. It is sculptural and functional. Actually it puts the FUN in functional. This chair is rare, expensive AF, and totally trippy like most of, Mexican born, Friedeberg's art is.
Solomon Ray said it right....
What do you know about love? Back in the day (80's and 90's) it didn't seem like such a bad thing to be in your feelings about someone. It didn't seem like a bad thing to tell someone you love them in an eloquent, creative, and non-degrading way. I wouldn't say we lost it completely...but Black Queer love with no limitations def needs a resuscitation. This is an excerpt from a book of poetry from the 80's premised around black gay love.
